Mongolia offers an incredible experience with its rich history spanning thousands of years, diverse landscapes including the vast Gobi Desert, and the warm hospitality of local nomadic people. Our photocultural journey begins in the Southern Gobi, where breathtaking canyons, expansive sand deserts, and majestic mountains await. We capture stunning photos of local camel herders against the backdrop of beautiful sand dunes and awe-inspiring canyons. Our team organizes private photo sessions with the camel herders, providing you with the perfect opportunity to capture unforgettable images while exploring the most remarkable locations in Southern Mongolia.
The second part of our trip focuses on photographing eagle hunters in western Mongolia. We arrange a unique and exclusive event with eagle hunters, ensuring you have a 100% chance of capturing your dream photos under the guidance of our professional photography team. Additionally, you’ll immerse yourself in their culture and explore the extraordinary mountains of western Mongolia. We also organize a special day of hunting with golden eagles, offering you the rare opportunity to witness these magnificent birds in action as they hunt for prey in the wild. This trip combines cultural immersion, portrait and genre photography, and landscape practice. We travel in comfortable Land Cruisers throughout the journey.
During the tour, you’ll stay at ger camps equipped with amenities such as electricity, hot showers, and comfortable beds with soft blankets and pillows. We always bring along power generators, different plugs, ecoflows, ensuring that you can charge batteries.
We’ll pick you up from your accommodation and drive directly to the White Stupa, a journey of about 5–6 hours. Once part of the ancient seafloor, this stunning escarpment resembles a white stupa, giving it the name *Tsagaan Suvarga* (White Stupa). Stretching 400 meters in length and towering 60 meters with a sheer, 90-degree cliff face, it’s a breathtaking sight. After rainfall, water cascades down the cliffs, resembling a massive waterfall and transforming the surface into something akin to the landscape of Mars. It’s the perfect setting for a leisurely stroll, capturing stunning photos—including drone shots. We’ll arrive at the White Stupa before sunset, giving us the opportunity to photograph its incredible colors during golden hour. The vivid hues of the cliffs create a surreal, otherworldly atmosphere, making for truly spectacular images. (B/L/D)
We’ll leave the White Stupa early in the morning and drive for 4–5 hours to reach the Khongor Sand Dunes. After checking into the tourist camp and having lunch, we’ll spend the afternoon enjoying camel rides and climbing the dunes before starting our photography sessions. We’ll visit a local camel herder family and explore the Khongor Sand Dunes on camelback. The dual-humped Bactrian camels provide a smooth and comfortable ride thanks to their gentle, leisurely pace, with our camel guide ensuring a safe journey through the sandy terrain. You’ll also get the chance to admire the serene beauty of the Seruun-Bulag oasis nestled amidst the dunes. Later, we’ll discuss the photography plan and prepare for the sunset photo session. We’ll capture stunning images of camel herders among the sand dunes—shots that are sure to become some of your most cherished photographs. After the session, we’ll return to the camp for dinner and some time to relax. The Gobi Desert often offers crystal-clear skies filled with stars, making it an ideal spot for night photography. Later, we’ll head back to the dunes to photograph the camel herders against the breathtaking backdrop of the starry desert sky. We’ll then return to the camp for the night. (B/L/D)
Rise early to capture breathtaking sunrise photos of the camel herders set against the striking colors of the Gobi sand dunes. After breakfast, we’ll embark on a journey to the Flaming Cliffs, arriving in the afternoon. This iconic site is famous for being the location of the first discovery of dinosaur eggs. Other significant paleontological finds in the area include fossils of Velociraptors and early eutherian mammals. The name “Flaming Cliffs” comes from the way the cliffs seem to glow during sunset. In the afternoon, you’ll have time to relax in the refreshing breeze of a Mongolian ger, perfect for unwinding after the short night typical of the Gobi Desert during summer. Later, we’ll head out to photograph the spectacular sunset from panoramic viewpoints that offer stunning views of the Flaming Cliffs. After dinner, we’ll return to the cliffs for an incredible night photography session, capturing the cliffs under a star-studded sky. Accommodation for the night will be in a tourist ger camp equipped with showers and electricity. (B/L/D)
This day is going to be a long day because we’ll drive 7-8 hours to Ulaanbaatar in total. Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, we’ll have dinner at a traditional Mongolian restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.(B/L/D)
We’ll take an early domestic flight from Ulaanbaatar to Olgii, a journey of about 2 hours. Upon arrival, we’ll drive to Sagsai village, home to many eagle hunter families. For the next two nights, we’ll stay near an eagle hunter family, immersing ourselves in their daily lifestyle. We’ll arrive at the village before noon, and after settling in, we’ll visit the local family to get acquainted with them. After lunch, we’ll begin the second part of our photography session with indoor portraits of the locals, including the eagle hunter, their children, and their wives dressed in traditional costumes inside their Ger. Later in the day, we’ll capture stunning images of the eagle hunters with the backdrop of the rock-carved mountains during sunset. Meanwhile, our talented chef will prepare a traditional Mongolian Kazakh dinner for us, offering an authentic taste of the region’s cuisine. Overnight stay. (B/L/D)
We’ll travel to the Omnogol Mountains to visit a local Uriankhai family. Although they are a minority among the Khalkh Mongols, their language has distinct differences. Here, we’ll have the opportunity to practice traditional archery and photograph the family in their beautiful traditional costumes. The family will treat us to their traditional vodka, and we’ll also learn the unique process of making Mongolian vodka in their traditional way. After bidding farewell to the family, we’ll head to the panoramic Blue Tolbo Lake, where we’ll photograph the eagle hunters amidst the stunning backdrop of rocky mountains and the shimmering lake at sunset. We’ll then return to the camp for the night. Overnight stay.(B/L/D)
Nur Altai Tour will host a private eagle festival arranged exclusively for our group. This unique event will feature Kazakh eagle hunters dressed in traditional dark coats and scarlet hats, proudly showcasing their majestic Golden Eagles. The festival will include exciting competitions such as eagle hunting games and ancient Kazakh traditions like horseback races for both men and women, as well as thrilling goat-pulling contests. You’ll have the rare opportunity to get up close with the Golden Eagles, even having one perch on your arm. With up to 25 eagle hunters participating, there will be countless opportunities for diverse photography, set against stunning backdrops like mountain ridges, river bends, and reflective grass marshlands. Each eagle hunter will be available for portrait sessions and will warmly engage with our group.Afterward, we’ll experience real hunting with the Golden Eagles. The hunters will ride into the mountain hills while we follow along, traveling by car to meet them. For part of the journey, we’ll ride horseback, following the hunters closely. Although carrying large camera lenses on horseback can be challenging, our vehicles will be nearby to assist with equipment when needed.
The eagle hunters will track footprints in the snow or dirt while we observe from a safe distance. Using walkie-talkies, we’ll stay connected with the hunters to follow their progress. If luck is on our side, we may witness the eagles catching prey in the wild—a truly unforgettable moment.
Afterward, you’ll also have the chance to capture stunning photos on horseback alongside the eagle hunters. As the day concludes, we’ll bid farewell to the eagle hunters and their families before heading back to Olgii town. Overnight accommodations will be provided at a hotel.(B/L/D)
You’ll have an early breakfast at the tourist camp. Then, will get transferred to the airport by drivers and tour guides. We’ll bid farewell, hoping to be a part of your unforgettable vacation and bring some vibrant moments to your life.(B)
