Mongolia offers an incredible experience with its rich history spanning thousands of years, diverse landscapes including the vast Gobi Desert, and the warm hospitality of local nomadic people. Our photocultural journey begins in the Southern Gobi, where breathtaking canyons, expansive sand deserts, and majestic mountains await. We capture stunning photos of local camel herders against the backdrop of beautiful sand dunes and awe-inspiring canyons. Our team organizes private photo sessions with the camel herders, providing you with the perfect opportunity to capture unforgettable images while exploring the most remarkable locations in Southern Mongolia.

The second part of our trip focuses on photographing eagle hunters in western Mongolia. We arrange a unique and exclusive event with eagle hunters, ensuring you have a 100% chance of capturing your dream photos under the guidance of our professional photography team. Additionally, you’ll immerse yourself in their culture and explore the extraordinary mountains of western Mongolia. We also organize a special day of hunting with golden eagles, offering you the rare opportunity to witness these magnificent birds in action as they hunt for prey in the wild. This trip combines cultural immersion, portrait and genre photography, and landscape practice. We travel in comfortable Land Cruisers throughout the journey.

In Ulaanbaatar, you’ll stay at hotels and ger camps equipped with amenities such as electricity, hot showers, and comfortable beds with soft blankets and pillows. We always bring along a professional espresso machine, ensuring that you can enjoy your favorite coffee during your stay.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrive in Ulaanbaatar

We’ll be there to greet you at the airport when you arrive. Chinggis Khan International Airport is about 50 kilometers from downtown, and the drive to the city usually takes around an hour. The evening rush hour can be quite busy, so if you’re arriving in the evening, expect the drive to the hotel to take about three hours. For those arriving in the morning or early hours, we suggest exploring some local attractions. We’ll organize a city tour for you, including visits to the Chinggis Khan Museum, which boasts a fascinating collection of historical artifacts, and the Gandan Monastery, Mongolia’s top Buddhist destination. Afterward, you’ll be transferred to your hotel.(B)Sukhbaatar Square Ulaanbaatar

Day 2Sunset shots in White Stupa

You’ll be picked up from your accommodation and driven straight to the White Stupa, a journey of about 5-6 hours. Once part of the seafloor, this escarpment resembles a white stupa, earning its name Tsagaan Suvarga (white stupa). Stretching 400 meters in length and rising 60 meters with a sheer 90-degree edge, it’s quite a sight. After rainfall, water cascades down, giving it the appearance of a massive waterfall and creating a surface reminiscent of Mars. It’s the perfect time to leisurely stroll along the White Stupa, capturing stunning photos, including drone shots, especially during the sunset.(B/L/D)White Stupa

Day 3Khongor Sand Dunes

Day 4The Flaming Cliffs

Get up early to capture stunning sunrise photos, showcasing the camel herders against the unique colors of the Gobi sand dunes. After breakfast at the camp, you’ll have the opportunity to climb the sand dunes. Following that, you’ll journey to the Flaming Cliffs, arriving in the afternoon. This area is renowned for being the site of the first discovery of dinosaur eggs. Additionally, notable findings in the region include specimens of Velociraptor and eutherian mammals. The name “Flaming Cliffs” originates from the way the area appears to shine during sunset. You’ll photograph the sunset from panoramic viewpoints offering a spectacular view of the flaming cliffs. Accommodation for the night will be provided at a tourist ger camp equipped with showers and electricity.(B/L/D)

Day 8Eagle Hunter Festival

Day 9Hunting with golden eagles

Today is a very special day for us. We’re going to join the eagle hunters for a hunt. About 5-8 eagle hunters will ride to the mountain hills, and we will drive to meet them. We’ll discuss the best strategy for catching an animal, and then they’ll track the footprints while we follow from a distance. They’re experts at what they do, and we’ll stay connected with them via walkie-talkie. Once they locate an animal, which could be a rabbit or fox depending on what they find in the wild, they’ll bring it to an open area where we’ll be stationed to photograph it. We won’t be too close; we’ll use our zoom lenses like 600mm or 200-500mm. We’ll be hidden among the rock hills, and when everyone is ready, they’ll release their golden eagles. With any luck, we’ll capture some truly amazing photos. You’ll be 100% satisfied with the day. If it’s still early, we’ll also take some photos of the eagle hunters at sunset. Afterward, we’ll drive back to the camp and celebrate the end of our trip, perhaps with a small concert performance by the locals. Let’s cherish these happy moments together.(B/L/D)
